Center about the different Jewish dinomenations and identity groups
In the modern age, belonging to a community can be a matter of personal choice. Many Jews, both observant and non-observant, want to find their place in existing frameworks. Others choose to create new frameworks based on their diverse ties with tradition, religion, culture and society.
One of the major focal points of change in recent decades concerns the role of women in religious ceremonies. Numerous groups have adopted the principle of gender equality and the role of women in them has changed beyond recognition.
Today, not all of the Jewish people are affiliated with the formal religious denominations. The vast majority of Jews regard themselves as being traditional or secular. Social and cultural associations, rather than membership in a congregation or community, are what constitute the primary definition of their identity.
