Foundations in Jewish identity

The convent between god and man and its four kinds

The CovenantThis is My Covenant With You
Belief in the eternity of God’s covenant has been a highly important element in the survival of the Jewish people over time.
In the ancient world, the Jewish covenant differed from others because it was not made mutually between kings and states, but rather was determined by God. The first covenant in the Bible was made by God with all of humankind in the days of Noah following the flood, and its symbol was a rainbow. The next covenant was made between God and our father Abraham: the “covenant between the parts” which included a ritual and a prophecy. The circumcision ritual, which is binding on all of Abraham’s descendants, was subsequently added.
At Mount Sinai, God made an eternal covenant with the Children of Israel as His chosen people who accepted His Torah.
