Must Know

Translated by Martin Luther (1483-1546), the German monk, theologist and religious reformer who was the catalyst of the Protestant Reformation. Luther translated the Bible into German to make it more accessible to German readers, without the mediation of the Church. The wide distribution of the translation helped spread Protestant ideas and unify the German language.
