Text: Masorti (Conservative) Judaism

Text Panel

Conservative Judaism, which is also called Masorti Judaism, strives to strike a balance between tradition and change. Conservative Jews believe that God is manifest in the enduring history of the Jewish people. The authority of halakha is upheld, but it is perceived as a system that evolved in order to meet the Jews’ changing existential needs. Based on those principles, diverse customs and theological approaches have developed among Conservative Jews and their congregations.
