An increasing number of leading Israeli rock stars have in recent years discovered the roots and origins of Jewish culture, and even God. Prominent artists such as Berry Sakharof and Ehud Banai have devoted entire albums to renewed renditions and adaptations of prayers. This process has parallels in American rock and roll among Jewish musicians like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. And speaking of rock – Jewish writers, producers, agents, composers and impresarios were heavily involved in the advent of rock and in mainstreaming Afro-American music.
