The years between the two world wars laid the foundations that eventually made American Jewry the largest center in the Jewish Diaspora. Alongside their integration into American cultural life and society as individuals, American Jews also established numerous nationwide institutions and organizations which affected all areas of life – ranging from networks of kindergartens and institutions of higher learning to health and social services agencies, as well as widespread cultural and political activities.
