Rodney Dangerfield was an American-Jewish comedian, actor, musician, and writer, who was known for his humorous monologues and mainly for his famous catchphrase “I get no respect”. he was listed as number 7 on Comedy Central’s list of all-time greatest stand-up comedians.
he was born as Jacob Rodney Cohen into a Jewish immigrant family that emigrated from Hungary to the US and he grew up on Long Island, New York. In his youth, he started to perform at stand-up clubs, but his great success came only in his 40’s. he appeared in the movies “Caddyshack” and “Back to School” which brought him great success. His successful stand-up show “No Respect” became his most known hallmark and he even won the Grammy Award.

he appeared on the show “Special” on HBO in which he helped young stand-up comedians, like Tim Allen and Jerry Seinfeld, to begin their path as comedians. Throughout his career, he appeared in various movies and TV shows and dubbed the animated musical comedy film “Rover Dangerfield”.
As his hallmark, his outfit composed of a black suit and a red tie. One of his outfits is exhibited as part of the permanent exhibition at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC.
