The al-Kuwaiti brothers, Saleh and Daoud, were among the most prominent musicians in Iraq. In the 1930’s, they were favorites of the royal family and helped found the Iraqi Radio Orchestra. After moving to Israel at the beginning of the 1950’s, their works were no longer played in the Arab world and, in Israel, their music was for the most part sidelined.
