Peleg Dishon (b. 1979) Song of the Day

Song of the Day / Work Order Peleg Dishon (b. 1979), 2020
Mixed media. Museum Collection

The work presents an imagined model of the daily routine at the Temple and combines two central and separate elements: the order of sacrifices and the “song of the day” sung by the Levis everyday at the Temple. The work, which resembles an altar, consists of seven drawers, each one matches an act from the sacrifice routine to its daily song. The different day songs, which are presented in layers – according to the order of sacrifice – gather into a layered picture that describes the relations between God and the believers
