Shimon Dzigan (1906-1980) and Israel Schumacher (1908-1961), who are considered the greatest Yiddish comedy team of all time, launched their joint career in Poland in 1927. They came to Israel in 1950, where they faced a ban on performances in Yiddish. The duo dissolved their partnership in 1960 due to personal differences
