In his book, Mein Kampf, Adolf Hitler formulated antisemitic doctrines as a major component of Nazi ideology. Jews were blamed for every calamity that befell Germany – including for its defeat in World War I, for promoting communism that put Germany at risk, for contaminating German culture and polluting the Aryan race, and for being corrupt capitalists who caused conflict between the nations of the world for their own personal gain. Nazi antisemitism reached its peak in the systematic attempt to annihilate the Jewish people.
