Text: Religious Zionists

Text Panel

The Religious Zionists began as a single group, but it now includes subgroups that differ from one another in many ways. All study the Babylonian Talmud and its commentaries, but also the Torah and its commentators, the writings of Jewish philosophers over the ages, and esoteric works that pertain to kabbalah. The spiritual world of many Religious Zionists holds a special place for the teachings of Rabbi Abraham Isaac HaCohen Kook (“ha-Re’ayah) and his disciples.
Some spiritual leaders of the Religious Zionists have produced a new, but multifaceted, philosophy. Among other things, it deals with the significance of the State of Israel as athalta di-ge’ullah – the beginning of messianic redemption.
