The Natori family, I know the family already 10 years. They are regular costumers of mine that I photograph once a year.
When we started the casting procedure of the families I immediately thought of them. I remembered that Yael told me that her father is an Israeli Jew and made aliyah from the United States in a relatively young age and therefore she is American. Yael’s father is a Holocaust survivor and according to her stories his relationship with Judaism is very complex.
Ken and Yael met at Stanford Univeristy. Ken is Catholic and Yael says that the kids celebrate every religious holoday and none at the same time.
She says they are a blend of everything and there is no specific religious that dominates.
They live in the same house already 12 years and a half. Ken was born a floor above them 46 years ago. Ken is the president of the Langera Natori company and Yael is a part-time Maths teacher.
We really love the idea that we are a mixed family that is represented by the museum.
